THE PUBLIC PODIUM

About Us

Welcome to the The Public Podium, a place where policy, polity, and economics collide with the inquisitiveness of three keen thinkers driven by the common love of figuring out the forces that are shaping our world. Present with a background in Public Policy and Economics, we not only provide the academic expertise, but an unyielding commitment to close the gap between logic and story and the detail of nuances.

How It All Began

This blog is not merely a result of collective notes or late-night discussions; it is a culmination of those instances where seminar hall talks ran over and spilled into coffee shops and WhatsApp groups. What began as an impulsive desire to rationalise policy structures, market trends, and models of governance turned into a collective project to analyse these issues through a variety of perspectives: empirical, philosophical, and often unapologetically critical.

What We Discover and Examine

We go beneath the surface to address current problems, such as thinking through the puzzle of fiscal federalism, the lore of the economics of carbon markets, or the knot of confounding biases of social policy. Our approach is not just about summarising the headlines—it’s about peeling back the layers to uncover what the numbers, words, and actions truly signify in shaping lives and livelihoods.

At its core, this blog is a quest. It is not enough for us to just ask what happened, but also what relevance it holds and how to improve it. For us, the cartographers of that wild and unexplored geography of policy and market rhythms that comprise society is a question and an exploration, eternally.

What to Expect

Our writings straddle the line between analytical and approachable. And seek articles that cut through the jargon at no cost to intelligence. We keep a meditative and also a controversial tone since there is no clear-cut policy question and desistance to reach the correct answer is in the grey zone.

Here, you’ll find everything from data-packed analyses to thought-provoking opinion pieces. There may be articles that contradict your view, and there may be articles that confirm what you’ve all thought all along but could not put into words. In any case, we strive to keep you active, informed, and questioning.

The Road Ahead

This blog isn’t just ours—it’s yours, too. In the future, we plan to make a more experimental choice, drawing on insights from behavioural economics and political science or from sustainability and global trade. We’re building a repository of insights that reflects the present while anticipating the future, with plans for collaborative research, interactive polls, and guest contributions to keep this space dynamic and engaging.

To entice and inform readers who are interested in policy imaginaries and economic realities that are defining the world, this blog will serve up a shot of curiosity and a spiked informational drink. We do not guarantee all the answers, but we do guarantee suggestive questions and the quest for increased knowledge. Let’s think, question, and discover—together.
